The Happy Peacock isn't your typical gift shop - and that's exactly the point.
Tucked into the heart of Main Street in Flemington, New Jersey, we're a colorful little shop filled with things that make us laugh, spark a memory, start a conversation, or make us think, “Okay, we have to have that.”
Because we believe shopping should be more than a transaction. It should be fun, a little unexpected, and maybe even leave you with a story to tell.
It all started with a dream
The Happy Peacock began long before the doors opened in January 2023. Rick spent years working in retail, while he and his wife, Giannina, loved exploring the Main Streets of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, discovering small shops filled with unique products and unforgettable experiences.
During one of those outings, Giannina turned to Rick and said, “Babe... maybe you should do this.”
That simple conversation sparked a dream that would eventually become The Happy Peacock.
After nearly a year searching for the right location, one last stop brought them to Flemington. They immediately fell in love with the energy of Main Street, its growing small-business community, and the opportunity to become part of something special.
Within weeks, they'd found the perfect home for a colorful gift shop built around one simple idea: shopping should be fun.
The store is designed to be engaging, a little unexpected, and genuinely fun. It's the kind of place where people laugh, pick things up they didn't plan to buy, and say, “I've never seen this before.”
Why we're different
We don't take ourselves - or gift shopping - too seriously.
The Happy Peacock is an eclectic mix of the fun, nostalgic, quirky, unexpected and occasionally a little sassy. You'll find gifts that make you laugh, toys that take you back, collectibles you didn't know you needed, unique home finds, and plenty of things that are simply too much fun to leave behind.
What ends up in the shop is pretty simple: if it makes us smile, catches us by surprise, or feels like something you won't find everywhere else, it belongs at The Happy Peacock.

We came to Flemington looking for the right place to open a store. What we found was a community that became part of The Happy Peacock story.
You'll find us celebrating on Main Street, participating in local events, supporting our fellow small businesses, and finding new reasons to bring people together. Some of our favorite moments have happened right outside our own front door.
We're proud to call Flemington home, grateful for the people who continue to support our little shop, and excited to be part of what's happening here.
